Vintage 1970’s London Leather Wood Jewelry Armoire
A striking, extra large vintage wooden musical jewelry box with a lift up top, a necklace closet, and ten drawers to hold a large number of jewelry items. It is lined with a beige velvet flocking material. The lid opens to reveal a rectangular mirror on its underside and a divided compartment featuring ring rolls on the left, two large compartments in the center, and twelve small compartments suitable for earrings or more rings on the right.
There is a necklace closet in the middle of the box with five drawers on each side. The closet has a windowed door with gold designs on the window and a large ornate gold metal pull on the front of the door. Inside, there is a large necklace carousel with ten prongs for lots of necklace storage. The top left drawer contains earring holders for six pairs or earrings and the rest of the drawers are undivided. When the top right drawer is opened, the music box plays, "You Light Up My Life" from 1977.
There are some nicks and scratches in the finish, a small split in the surface of the wood on the top lid, and some spots on the lining from prior use (see photos). Two of the drawers have been relined with new velvet flocking material that is a slightly different color than the other drawers. But overall, this huge, gorgeous box is in very good vintage condition.
